To Camotes, there are two daily trips from "Ocean Jett" ferries to Camotes coming from "Pier 1" in Cebu City. You can also take a bus from Cebu City to Danao Harbor and then to Consuelo Port in Camotes (Pasihan Island).
Recently, two daily trips from Mactan Island, next to Cebu Yacht Club, is open at 8:00 am and 12:00 pm. The travel time is short and convenient, about 1 hour and 15 minutes, so it is a better use when going to Camotes from Mactan Island!
The Camotes Islands: Pacijan Island (aka San Francisco Island), Poro Island, Ponson Island, and Tulang Island.
Pacijan Island and Poro Island are connected by a paved road, and it takes about one and a half hours to go around one lap on both Pacihan Island and Polo Island.
Plainly, “camote” means sweet potato. Conferring to a folklore, the island got its name when Spaniards arrived and asked the farmers about the place. Thinking that the question was about what they were harvesting, the native farmers replied “camotes”. This group of islands known as “The Last Horizon in the South” are made of Pacjian, Ponson, Poro and Tulang.
