Popular Influencers Share “Deluxe & Luxury Experiences” in Cebu for Women in Their 20s–30s – Direct Flights to Cebu Now in the Spotlight!
The Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) has launched a new campaign for the Japanese market starting in June 2025, significantly ramping up promotions for direct flights to Cebu.
This campaign focuses on digital media and features the “Cebu Deluxe & Luxury Tour,” using popular influencers to share the diverse charms of Cebu with Japanese travelers. As part of the strategy, DOT invited top influencers favored by women in their 20s and 30s for a 4-night, 5-day FAM (Familiarization) Trip from June 29 to July 3.

A Resort, Experiences, and Luxury — Cebu Travel as Shared by Influencers
In collaboration with Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and United Airlines, this initiative highlights direct flights to Cebu, aiming to appeal not only to young women but also to families planning summer vacations. The campaign emphasizes unique, premium travel experiences with keywords like “Resort,” “Experiential,” and “Deluxe & Luxury.”
Influencers were divided into three groups, each experiencing different hotels and activities. Across all groups, whale shark watching and cultural activities in southern Cebu were included, showcasing Cebu’s unique combination of luxury and immersive experiences.

During the FAM trip from June 29 to July 3, influencers, models, and creators with large social media followings enjoyed the latest Cebu hotspots, luxury resorts, cultural traditions, and wellness experiences.

Three Unique Groups, One Amazing Cebu
The influencers were grouped into three teams, with each group enjoying unique luxury stays and curated activities:
Group 1: Luxury and Culture at Shangri-La Mactan
• Relaxed at the prestigious Shangri-La Mactan Resort & Spa.
• Explored the vibrant marine life through snorkeling at a marine sanctuary, indulged in soothing treatments at Chi Spa, and dined at the fine-dining restaurant Cowrie Cove.
• Immersed themselves in Cebu’s cultural heritage by visiting the Alegre Guitar Factory and QQ English, concluding their day with a lively cultural buffet featuring Filipino dances and cuisine.

Group 2: Wellness and Culinary Delights at Crimson Resort & Spa
• Focused on wellness through rejuvenating spa treatments and savored nutritious gourmet dishes at Crimson Resort.
• Discovered Cebu’s religious and historical charm with a visit to the Argao Church and participated in a candlelight vigil.
• Experienced the elegance of NUSTAR Resort & Casino, where they explored the spa, pool, and upscale dining outlets.

Group 3: Action-Packed Adventure at JPark Island Resort & Waterpark
• For the fun-loving and adventurous, they enjoyed the thrilling water slides and pools at JPark Island Resort & Waterpark, along with relaxing head and hair spa treatments.
• Explored Cebu’s lively Sugbo Mercado night market and capped off the day with a luxury shopping spree at SM Seaside and The Mall at NUSTAR.

Whale Shark Watching: A Shared Highlight
All three groups united for an unforgettable adventure swimming alongside whale sharks in Oslob and snorkeling in the crystal-clear, emerald waters of Sumilon Island. They also shared a fun and interactive Filipino lunch at Cebu Beach Club, where they learned to prepare local favorites like puso (hanging rice), kinilaw (pickled fish), and refreshing local cocktails.
A Grand Send-off at Fili Hotel

The journey wrapped up with a memorable social dinner at the newly opened Fili Hotel in NUSTAR Resort, where Cebu’s iconic lechon was freshly roasted and served in a live kitchen setting. The influencers came together one last time to exchange stories and laughter, joined by Department of Tourism Region 7 Director Judy Dela Cruz Gabato.

Adding to Cebu’s growing list of achievements, Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) proudly secured the 7th spot in the 2025 World’s Most Improved Airports ranking. Praised for its stunning architecture, top-notch services, and passenger-friendly facilities, this recognition further cements Cebu’s status as a major gateway for international tourism.
