Established in 1997, Emerald Green Diving Center Mactan has many branches not just here in Cebu, but also outside of Cebu.

Located inside the Bluewater Maribago resort, a great location that’s easy to find. So, if you’re staying in the resort don’t forget to experience diving with them and tick that off your bucket list!

With licensed instructors that will help and guide, especially for beginners like me, they are patient and will teach you how breath properly and the things that you should know when underwater.

A Haven for Beginners

For those new to the world of scuba diving, Emerald Green Diving Center provides a comprehensive training program. Beginners can rest assured that their journey into the depths of the ocean begins safely with thorough training sessions conducted in a controlled pool environment. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, novice divers learn essential skills and gain confidence before venturing into the open waters. Prior to your pool trial dive, the instructors provide a detailed briefing on important information to ensure you're well-prepared for the experience ahead.

Filling out forms and briefing 

In the pool you are also taught how to breathe properly and will be tested if you you remember the important hand signals, also if your regulator accidentally came off while underwater, they would teach you how to properly secure it back in place to ensure your safety during your dive. 

When you’re ready for a dive into the open water, you will have to ride a boat going to Nalusuan or Hilutungan Island, a perfect place for beginners since it’s not too deep, a place where you can also see many corals and sea creatures.

Once you reach the spot, the professional/licensed divers will brief you on the things to remember like not forgetting to equalize under the water to prevent your ears getting damaged.

Once you’re about to dive in, they will teach you how to properly hold your mask and regulator, so it will stay in place when you jump in. Once you reach the sea floor, you can kneel and interact with fishes and take in the beauty underwater.

While moving around underwater, a licensed diver will hold the oxygen tank, so you can swim easily. Meanwhile, another licensed diver will tell you about the types of fish that you can see, using an underwater writing pad.

There were many types of schools of fish. We were able to see a clown fish, famously known as the “Finding Nemo” clownfish.

If you just want to enjoy a trip on the sea and under the sun, you can still contact them for a boat trip and while your other companion is doing scuba diving. Keep in mind that the dive takes 30 minutes, and you will resurface after that.

After the dive, when ascending, don't forget to swim slowly. The staff will remove your equipment and offer you a complimentary hot coffee or tea of your choice to warm you up. You may take a shower afterward in the Bluewater shower room. Please note that shampoo and soap are not provided, but you can bring your own.

Midday Barbecue on a Charming Island

After the dive we headed to a quaint island to have lunch. The staff cooked a variety of seafood and meat. There are also huts on the island where you can chill and relax while waiting for your food to be served. It is advisable to bring insect repellent!

They serve freshly grilled seafood like shrimp and squid, along with pork and chicken BBQ. Pair these delicious dishes with Cebu’s famous “puso” or hanging rice.

They also provide wet wipes to clean your hands, or for any use.

*All activities are subject to an environmental tax of 100 pesos/person per day for the city Lapu-Lapu, except Oslob, Moalboal, Sumilon, Malapascua Day Trip
*A tax of 12% will be added to the above rates. The tax will be charged to customers who pay in cash.
*Cancellation Policy – 50% 2 days prior to diving, 100% the day before – the day of diving at Emerald Green Diving Center Mactan.

Post-Dive Relaxation

Emerald Green Diving Center guests can enjoy the complimentary use of the Maribago Bluewater’s beach to relax and enjoy the remaining time under the sun.

Notes and Regulations

If you have any of the following health check items on the day, you may not be able to participate. Please be sure to consult with the instructor in advance.

• You will not be able to board an airplane for 12 hours after the trial dive and 18 hours after the fun dive. (Please check your flight schedule before applying.)
• If you are over 70 years old or have some health condition, you may need a medical certificate from a specialist, so if you have any concerns, please contact us before applying.
• If the participant is under 18 years old, the parent or guardian must sign the necessary documents. If a parent or guardian will not be accompanying the participant on the day, please contact us in advance. (Diving is possible from 10 years old with a parent or guardian's signature.)
