Feel free to trek in Cebu City! Experience nature at Budlaan Falls, a little-known spot known only to the locals!
Speaking of waterfalls on Cebu Island, "Kawasan Waterfall" and "Tumalog Falls" are famous, but both take about 3-4 hours from Cebu City. This time, we would like to introduce Budlaan Falls, a hidden paradise located in Cebu City where you can easily go trekking and playing in the river without spending time and money !
Budlaan Falls is a favorite spot for local trekking enthusiasts that is not listed in guidebooks, so foreign tourists are rarely seen. It takes about 30-40 minutes by car or motorcycle from IT Park in Cebu City to the trekking departure point, and about 30-40 minutes from the trekking departure point to the waterfall, so even those who are not confident in their physical strength can easily try trekking. It is an exciting course!
Those who want to enjoy hiking and playing in the river easily without spending time and money, those who want to refresh their minds away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and those who want to release their tired body from desk work are recommended to enjoy this hidden gem for digital detox. It's worth trying, so come and visit budlaan falls.
Depart for Budlaan Falls! Enjoy trekking in the great outdoors!
From the starting point, a gentle road that is easy to walk will continue for a while. Trekking while listening to the birdsong is very pleasant in the lush nature. You can also see the idyllic life of the mountains, where animals such as chickens, goats and dogs coexist with humans.
Enjoy the exhilarating view from a high position!
In the middle of trekking, there will be a slightly open place. You can see the nearby mountains and valleys on your right. You can take a moment and have a deep breath while enjoying the beautiful scenery! Also, keep hydrated during trekking. We recommend that you bring a water bottle or purchase drinking water at Salisa store, which is the starting point for trekking.
This fallen tree shows the power of the large typhoon that hit Cebu Island in December 2021. Typhoon claw marks are still left everywhere on the trekking course, but all the locals welcome you with a bright smile, so you will be inspired by how you live in nature.
The beautiful sound you hear from the water cascading over rocks!
When you gradually hear the sound of the waterfall, trekking is at the end. As the waterfall approaches, you will feel better, but at the end of the trek, there will be steep descents, so you need to be careful where you step and proceed carefully. Auxiliary ropes are installed on steep descents, so it is recommended to go backwards while holding the rope. If you like adventure, the final stage may be the most exciting.

If you want to dive into the waterfall basin, hire a guide and follow the instructions. Self-judgment is dangerous because the water level of the waterfall basin changes depending on the season and weather.
A local guide will come as soon as you inform them that you want to have a guide at the starting point. In some cases, the motorbike taxi driver will ask you if you need a guide. If you are visiting for the first time, it is safe to have a guide! Also, if you want to dive into the waterfall basin, check the condition of the waterfall basin with your guide on the day!
